Customer Review: Outstanding Macro Flash
I do a lot of macro photography in the lab (mostly for forensic engineering work). While I was able to do a pretty decent job with enough available light and my 580EX, there were times that didn't work...and I missed some important shots; but not with the MT-24EX. The flexibility and versatility of this flash unit makes it the "one" to have for macro work. The ability to remove one or both flash heads and aim them right where you want is a terrific feature. There are times when I have to capture moving subjects, and the high speed sync function works great when you need to push a faster shutter speed but still keep the fill flash ability. And as one of the other reviewers mentioned, you can set this flash for either master or slave mode; works great with my 580EX as a slave unit. I continue to be astounded by the quality of macro photos produced with this flash. Bottom line: if you're serious about macro work, this flash is a must have. What a great Macro/Close-up flash. The flash works great lens mounted or by romoving one or both of the heads (they also have tripod mounts on them). This makes this flash so versatile. Excellent Canon quality and performance. Ettl works flawless with my Rebel XTi! It is also able to control a slave and I believe it can also be used as a slave. I couldn't be happier with this flash!

The Canon Elan 7 E Date features the eye-controlled focus system, the fastest means of focusing and metering a photographer can find. By using more focusing points and greater off-center coverage than other cameras in its class, this camera is able to take an exact reading in approximately 1/20 of a second. When the photographer brings the camera to their eye, their glance is tracked by the focusing system, allowing framing and focusing to become a single uninterrupted creative process. An easy, one-time calibration is all that's needed to activate the eye-controlled focus system. Once this calibration is complete, the camera is able to precisely detect which part of the viewfinder the photographer is using. It then automatically focuses the lens with amazing accuracy.

This system delivers crisp, sharply focused images whether the camera is in a vertical or horizontal position. The Canon Elan 7 is even able to store the distinct calibrations of up to five different photographers. Using an EF 300mm f/2.8 IS lens, it can track a subject moving at 186 mph until it's a mere 66 feet from the camera. This fast-focus system, combined with the ability to shoot at almost 4 frames per second, makes the Canon Elan 7 the perfect choice for capturing those demanding sporting events or special occasions when you don't want to miss a single moment. And considering its continuous shooting speed, the Elan 7 is also remarkably quiet. This feature gives the photographer the opportunity to shoot the perfect wildlife scene without disturbing or scaring the subject.

Part of the Elan 7's focusing system is the seven-point wide-area autofocus. The eye-controlled focus system was designed to work especially with this precision feature. Seven focusing points are arranged in a wide cross pattern with a central "cross-type" sensor. The wider-than-usual area gives the photographer the ability to achieve a remarkably sharp, focused image instantly. This function works whether the subject is off-center, stationary, in motion, in low light, or even in low-contrast situations. The shot will still come out sharp and crisp, and without the need to recompose the shot. By using the focusing-point selection keys, the user is able to select any of the seven focus points simply by pressing a key. Representing a bold innovation in speed and usability, this feature gives an additional amount of image control back to the photographer.

A highly advanced metering system, comprised of 35-zone evaluative metering sensors, is linked to the seven focusing points. Whether shooting indoors or outside, day or night, a seamless integration of exposure and focus assures remarkable clarity and contrast in any image. This system gives the photographer accurate control over situations that combine light and shadow or that feature strong backlight. When metering subjects against very dark or very bright backgrounds, partial-area metering measures 10 percent of the viewfinder around the chosen focusing point. This provides accurate image results when dealing with shadows or highlights. The photographer can also use the Elan 7's center-weighed metering function. This mode places greater emphasis on what it reads as the center of the frame by measuring the entire scene. No matter which function the photographer chooses, precision metering is guaranteed--whether the camera is in a vertical or horizontal position.

Giving the photographer even more creative control is the command dial. This allows manual control light, speed, aperture, and depth of field. Shutter priority lets the photographer choose the shutter speed, while the Elan 7 automatically selects the correct aperture. This function is especially useful when capturing action shots. With aperture priority, the photographer picks the aperture setting while the camera chooses the correct shutter speed. This is helpful when control over the depth of field is essential. Using the eye-controlled focus system to define the "sharp zone," the photographer can calculate the precise depth of field automatically. It's even possible to check the depth of field using the preview button. For added creativity, and to help everyone remember when all those special occasions took place, this particular model of the Canon Elan 7 will let the photographer print the date and time on the final image.

Talk about bang for your buck. This camera has everything you'd expect from a mid-range camera and some you usually only find on high-end cameras. The eye control focus works great though you do need to calibrate it many times in different lighting conditions. The controls are well placed and easy to use. The custom functions are relatively simple to set and allow you to customize how the camera operates. Functions like the true mirror lock-up and the 4 fps advance speed help place this camera securely in the top ranks of its class. The thing that surprised me the most was the near silent operation. Even on rewind you can only hear it if you place your ear near the body (unless of course you choose to rewind at the faster speed). Of course there are options I'd love to see added like a PC cable port and an interchangeable focusing screen but thats why there are pro class cameras. Like I said before, this camera is hard to beat for the price.

Here's the deal... Invest in a nice lens, and learn to color balance this camera (buy the DVD that teaches you how to use it).. The things this camera can do is just amazing... and for this price it's a no brainer.... I have had the camera for over 2 years and have never been so happy with a purchase in my life.... LEARN to color balance it with a white card and learn to use the "M" mode and you will never need another camera... They say it's an amatuer camera, but we use it professionally for product shots... It's darn good and that's all there is too it... You could get the Xsi too but for the price this is more of a value... God bless you and God bless America and all of our allies... In GOD we trust!!

I love this camera!!! I noticed many people saying the same in all the comments I read, and after purchasing the camera and using it for the past 3 months I absolutely agree with them all. I LOVE this camera! Its easy to operate (especially for a beginner as myself) and light enough for people transitioning from a point-&-shoot camera. The sensor cleaning is very helpful (particularly when one travels to areas where there are a lot of dirt roads). The software that comes along with the camera kit is also easy to use and a great organizational tool. Now I need to look for a new lens, the one that comes with the kit does not have a far enough range for me, and you will definitely need more if you travel much. Cameta Camera was super fast in shipping the camera so a big thumbs up for them.

The Canon Rebel XSi would make a wonderful addition to any photographer's equipment. Between the quality it gives you, plus the very reasonable price as compared to other top-name brands, it's a perfect balance. If you get it with a kit, like I did, you can get everything you need to go with the camera, without spending a ton of money to get it. It's very easy to handle, even with the 70-300mm zoom lens attached, and it even comes with Adobe Photoshop software to help you fix up the shots you need to improve. Overall, it's not the top-of-the-line, but for overall value and quality, it's hard to beat.

This balances out the Xsi with a larger lens on it and makes it a lot easier to handle. Great addition to my setup and I am sure you will like it as well. The additional accessories are pretty good, I was expecting throw away stuff but the lens blower and other items ended up in my bag. One thing though is the lens brush does loose it's fibers and is not really very good. But hey! I like this a lot!

I was honestly worried ordering these because the old saying "you get what you pay for." I've been happy with every shot though. The main lens I wanted was the 70-300mm for zoom shots and I love it. The 28-70mm performs well too. If you are an amateur just looking to expand your camera's capabilities these are perfect. The only bad thing about these lens's is they are not the super performance, super expensive ones the pro's use. This can't really count against the star count because they are not supposed to be. They are great for the price and if someone can get a better deal I'd like to know about it.
Customer Review: Very good lens kit for the money
I'm just getting started in the DSLR area, and I'm on a very tight budget. I did some research on different lenses, and wanted something that would supplement the kit lens that came with my Canon Xt. I knew I wanted a 70-300 lens, and when I found this set with the 28-70 lens also included, I felt I had found a good buy. I've used both lens for a couple of months now, and I've been very pleased with both of them. I know they're not the same as the higher priced lens, but I'm extremely happy with them. They both have a good heavy feel to them, very solid; the auto-focusing works wonderfully, and when I put either lens on the camera, it always feels stable - no play in them whatever. In the future, I may move up to more expensive lens, but I imagine I'll keep a set of these on hand, as well. They were such a good buy that I can use them while traveling, and won't have to worry about damaging a high-ticket lens.

The optics on these lenses are great. I could focus very well manually and my Canon Rebel could focus automatically with the lenses as well. I could not see any difference between them and the Canon lenses I have. Both were easy to mount and dismount from the camera and both were easy to handle while zooming and focusing. I recommend these lenses to anyone with a Canon Rebel camerea.

I sent a message to the seller inquiring on when I can expect to receive the missing lens and unfortunately, they don't have an estimated ship date. I don't know in depth of lens technology, since I am new to this field and I don't hesitate to call myself a novice user in this field. However I have been learning of late about all this stuff and reading the reviews of lens. About Sigma 70-300 DG lens - I am happy with it; I get to play around a lot connecting it to Canon 450D. Worth mentioning that I got very good portrait pictures and macros using this lense. It covers quite a good distance. Backgorund blurr effect is amazing. Quality may not be called as "Outstanding" as compared to canon telephoto lens. I will post few pictures taken by this lens.

Here's the deal... Invest in a nice lens, and learn to color balance this camera (buy the DVD that teaches you how to use it).. The things this camera can do is just amazing... and for this price it's a no brainer.... I have had the camera for over 2 years and have never been so happy with a purchase in my life.... LEARN to color balance it with a white card and learn to use the "M" mode and you will never need another camera... They say it's an amatuer camera, but we use it professionally for product shots... It's darn good and that's all there is too it... You could get the Xsi too but for the price this is more of a value... God bless you and God bless America and all of our allies... In GOD we trust!!

I love this camera!!! I noticed many people saying the same in all the comments I read, and after purchasing the camera and using it for the past 3 months I absolutely agree with them all. I LOVE this camera! Its easy to operate (especially for a beginner as myself) and light enough for people transitioning from a point-&-shoot camera. The sensor cleaning is very helpful (particularly when one travels to areas where there are a lot of dirt roads). The software that comes along with the camera kit is also easy to use and a great organizational tool. Now I need to look for a new lens, the one that comes with the kit does not have a far enough range for me, and you will definitely need more if you travel much. Cameta Camera was super fast in shipping the camera so a big thumbs up for them.

This is a great bag is you have 2 bodies and a few lenses. It easily holds my set-up including a couple speedlights and a 70-200 F2.8 lens with ease. The memory card and battery management system is also great. It is also fully configurable to accomadate the specific equipment you may have. For the working pro who needs lighting and is away from the office for long periods it may not hold all of your requirements. I am considering a second case just for my speedlights, batteries and electrical systems (chargers etc) It is very well made in the Tamrac tradition and should last for a lifetime.

I have it on a 5D mated to a light weight Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM lens. I've had MB-12's on Nikon FE's, an MB-10 on a Nikon F90x, and a BG-E3 on a Canon Digital Rebel XT. All were necessary tools for me. The BG-E4 is no different. It's heavy at 2 pounds. But, without it, my vertically oriented photos lack a level of steadiness which affects composition.

Customer Review: Great bargain for a first/back up SLR
I bought this camera refurbished and have been quite happy with its overall performance. It compares to the 40D, but with less resolution. Does well when looking at the http://www.dxomark.com/ testing when compared to the Canon XXD series. I have shot rough 4000 clicks without a hitch. I find the lack of a sensor cleaner a drawback. LCD could be bigger/better, but I don't use it that much. I have owned the XTI and much prefer this cameras feel and handling, but have to say the image quality appears roughly equal. More import is a good glass!

Customer Review: Does what it's supposed to but too expensive
I have mixed feelings about this item. I shoot a lot of vertical portraits so this was a must however I don't really like it as it adds a lot of bulk to the camera and it's way too expensive. It should be $100. less. I simply do not use it unless I'm doing a portrait shoot. For everyday walking around or tripod work, it's too cumbersome. On the plus side, it feels fairly solid and should last the life of the camera.

Fast, accurate, and flexible, Rebel Ti's three autofocus systems (the camera chooses the best one automatically) free you to concentrate on your composition and to just have fun. Seven focusing points cover an area wider than any other camera in its class, letting you place your subject off-center or even focus on the area covered by multiple focus points.

The glare-free laser matte viewfinder displays seven wide-area focusing points, which are clearly superimposed to guide composition. Customer Review: Excellent Camera, Fun to Use!
I've only have my Canon Ti for a week and I've already developed and purchased additional film (B&W). I was instantly impressed and amazed at the quality of pictures that I, as an amateur (and first-time camera owner) could produce. The color, sharpness, and realism portrayed in the film, along the light-weight, durable, and attractive camera body makes it a popular model, with no shock. I did a lot of personal research on modern day SLR 35mm cameras before I made my purchase and my eyes were instantly fixated on this model. The only reason that I did not give this camera a full 5-star review is that this is not the best camera on the market. Dispite the excellent monetary value, depth of use (a 60-page manual included!), and film quality that is produced, this camera is not the best out there, and obviously lacks digital properties. However, being a college student, and having a film camera in mind, this was the best choice for me; I'm a proud new Canon owner, I don't regret my purchase in the slightest, and I can't wait to take more pictures. All I personally recommend is: look for a better deal through Amazon's private dealers or on eBay, read the instruction manual, don't be intimidated, and have fun...this camera takes great pics, good shooting. ~S

I purchased the kit about 3 weeks ago. The lens is quite big and heavy but I was astonished by the pictures it takes. The zoom is incredible and the IS is greate. Although its not designed for macro or portraits the results were amazing. I used the lens in disney world and the performance was outstanding. I think this lens is a must in your canon back pack.
